The Char-Broil N480 four-burner grill features an enclosed, appliance style, two-door, cart design and a great step up in the Char-Broil lineup. The grill is powered by four stainless steel tube burners running front to back and pushing 48,000 BTUs to heat a comfortably large 480 square inches of primary cooking area that is complimented by an additional 208 square inches of secondary cooking space. The side shelf reveals a 13,000 BTU flush mounted side burner and all of the burners are fired by an easy push of the button with electronic ignition. The stainless steel look is accomplished through a blend of stainless steel and painted steel and the cart itself has casters that can lock the grill into place. This heavy duty grill has the look and value to really make grilling fun.

"Do not buy Char Broil" 2010-06-15
By mark reed (Oak Park, IL United States)
Consumer Reports recommended this piece of junk. My grill came out of the box with uneven burning. Char Broil's solution was to keep sending me different parts (3 times) and then eventually gave up figuring it was my fault. Terrible product and terrible customer service.

 "uh-oh . . . I'm feeling a little nervous" 2010-05-31

After 10 years, our old low-end Weber gas grill has had it (big time). So last week, when an aquaintences of ours offered 1 yr old Char Broil Stainless 4 burner "commercial" series grill for $50, we took it. We knew nothing about the brand. Don't know anyone else who owns one (warning sign #1.) Well, now that I've done a little reading on line, I'm starting to think $50 was almost too much money! Wow, the reviews are horrendously B-A-D! Not just on Amazon - everywhere! There is no way I would ever buy one of these new, and we haven't even used the 2nd hand one yet. The horror stories about the craptastic customer service alone are enough to gurarantee that when the time comes for us to purchase a new grill (and apparently it will come very, very soon) We will shell out the money for a Weber. Meanwhile I will keep y'all posted about how quickly things start to fall apart on this baby.

It looks great,,,but it is the pits.
I cannot understand how this product has such a poor outer surface. Cheap paint?? Rust??...Customer support, the worst.. They choose not to talk to you or return yor e-mails. I should have went with my gut and got another Webber.
This Spring i will after this one sits on the curb with a "Free for the Taking Sign"

 "I should have got a Weber......" 2009-08-26
By D. Jermain (Kingwood, TX)
My young children "bought" me a grill for Father's Day, 2008. It's a Char-Broil very similar to this one and was a decent grill - for the first 6 mos or so. Although even from the beginning, the hot spots are unacceptable. A difference of 2-3" on the cooktop can mean 2x the cooking time. Once I figured out where the hot spots were and learned to move the food around frequently, the grill was at least usable. Sort of.

So, here we are 14 months later. My grill does sit outdoors, but is covered religiously with an outdoor-specific cover. My cooking grates are rusted to the point of falling apart and the galvanized drip tray under the firebox has rusted so badly, it has broken away and is hanging underneath. I contacted Char-Broil customer support and explained my situation. They claim these grills are designed to last 20-30 years. Yet, when mine rusts to pieces after a year - they refuse to stand behind a obvious product malfunction. Parts to repair my grill is $200 with shipping - nearly 75% of the original purchase price. After pleading my case and arguing with a supervisor, we've reached no resolution. The only explanation I've been offered for the rust is that I "didn't wash the grill down with water frequently enough." Yes, because MORE water is always the solution for rust. What a joke.

So, I'm now rolling my 1 year-old Char-Broil Grill to the curb to be picked up by my friendly garbage collectors. I guess I'll chalk this up as a an expensive learning experience and am writing this review to hopefully save you the same pain.

DO NOT BUY A CHAR BROIL PRODUCT - JUNK!!!

 "Cruddy Grill" 2009-06-06
By Matthew Asnip (Atlanta, GA United States)
Pro: The grill looks very pretty when first bought

Con: It rusts quickly. It has the hallmarked Char Broil lack of quality. The gas regulator activates too quickly. It never really heats hot. The maximum it gets to even when the gas regulator is working (which isn't too often) is around 450 degrees.
